Can someone please tell me why Georgia is so willing to send its troops to the cauldron that is Afghanistan? Do they believe this will be full steam ahead to NATO membership?

Saakashvili, is the best comedy show on TV, he’s the Austin Powers of politics, the captain of the titanic, shouting, “f**k the icebergs, full speed ahead!”

Remember that time he shouted, “Russian Plane Attacking!” and ran away leaving reporters staring at an empty sky wondering if he was on drugs… ha ha.

Or that time the question was too complex and while he was wondering what Nato would want him to say, he ate his tie… ha ha.

Or the time he suddenly made a detour and took the Polish president to the border so they could look at the bad Russians, and they were shot at, after which the Polish president made no comment, because it was really hard to explain why they stopped first, started camera’s and recording equipment running… ha ha.

Cry Wolf Saakashvili is simply a moron… unfortunately at the cost of many innocent people.
He’s like a drowning rat clutching at any flotsam and this creature represents the worst of human nature, study him well, he’s a textbook psychopath…

I feel really sorry for Georgians...

Georgia shouldn't have any right to call for an investigation as it was them who started the war, well prepared and planned, with foreign help.
I believe by now it has to be clear by everyone about the facts. But I see there are still some who repeat Mr.Cheney and Mr.Mccain's words.
In this matter the UN should better investigate the whole concept : planning, preparing and launch of the war, and not just one irrelevant detail.

I wonder what you are thinking Dino, why don’t you just acknowledge your position or identify your self as anti Russia. You appear to be one sided, and you seem to aim to blame Russia. In my opinion if it was dropped by a war plane then why hit with no target and why it did not blow up? I give you an example: if you steal a rabbit or a camel you are still a thief. Then why Russia if it has gone for this act it did not harm anything at all? Please answer the question. By the way don’t feel targeted because that is your weakness because your arguments baseless.

I tend to agree with "George" this is a simple case of probably an accident that would have been better to owe up to your mistake, rather than a COVER up! Just another example of Russia going back to its SECRETIVE ways!

Dino, you appear to be confusing your own personal and no doubt deeply held opinions, with cold, hard facts. No matter how many times I re-read your contributions, they inevitably come up strong on opinion and very weak on facts. Making simplistic statements like 'bombs do not have legs' is not a debating tactic - it is obvious to all that they do not, but it is also obvious to anyone with a modicum of intelligence that a bomb can come from one any number of sources. Your claim that the only country with an air-force in the area is Russia is laughable, and is not even worth debating because it is simply WRONG. If Georgia has no air force, as you appear to be claiming, please enlighten us as to what they did with the 100 or so aircraft transferred to them in May 1992 as part of an agreement between CIS leaders? Also you appear to have forgotten that one nation, a master of false flags, has bases dotted all over the region. You'll have to try harder. Much harder.

Even do Georgia has been very provocative with its actions against Russia ever since Saakashvili came to power, this incident seems that a Russian plane droped the bomb, propably by acident, and they are trying to cover it up, in the end the true will be found out,.Russia has nothing to gain from an escalation of violence in the region with Sochi just being over the border ( its were the olympics will take place).

Georgia claims Russia bombed them and are looking for surport from the west Russia disputes this claim. Now the missile never exploded so using this vital evidence Georgia could have proved its case instead they blow it up,sorry Georgia your claim has a bad smell to it.

I have never seen so many "Clones" who can't think for themselves.
"R in R" talk about being closed minded WTF? All my posts are backed up by the FACTS! Give me examples of where I'm WRONG? You can't, I challenge you all to an honest debate on my posts to PROVE I'm wrong. When you stoop to name calling it demonstrates your 3rd world ignorance. [edited out. the 'stop calling names' rule applies to all - RT] It's easy to "blame" the other guy.Its HARD to take personal responsibility! You all choose the EASY road!

Dino and Kristine are trolls, simple as that. I think Sullivan is pretty close to the target.

As for this bomb thing there are many ways in which it could have went down. I read it was because an SU-24 dropped it's load for some reason. I have also seen pictures of the scene and frankly the hole is quite small. No larger than half a stick of dynamite would make, or possibly something landing after falling for a long ways. If it was a bomb it was not targeted at anything in particular. I think this is just a way for Geogia to get more attention for whatever reason. Think people, planes stray over borders all of the time. This is not really unusual.

@kristine. wow.are you and Dino in any way related? I'm appaled.
Your comment is extremely racist and FAR from being democratic (though i bet u r from a country that prides itself on attempts of becoming such).
Your comment about flag is plainly stupid. Any pioneer-explorer left their flags when they reached a place noone ever reached before. So, that sarcasm was out of place.
As for Russia dying out and not being replaced by a new generation - that's just pure ignorance. Then why do we have so many pregnant women and young moms with a lot of kids in the streets? com'on - get a life and a better grasp of reality!

@Dino – it’s useless to debate with you – there is not point. You are hell-bent on yr opinions and you don’t want to listen to anyone else. So, why do I need to waste my time on talking to someone who won’t be listening?
But just for the sake of answering a question – ever thought that it could be a provocation by Georgia itself or whoever is lining up with them to provoke Russia to any sort of actions for whatever reason yet unknown? There’re quite a few reasons now to suspect that… So, leave yr sarcasm and narrow-mindedness to yourself. And as Margo said – it’s all getting booooring.

I think this is a game that is verry dangerouis and should not be played on russias expense.the russians have proven over and over again that they choose peace and stability upon its neighbors and plays a very constructive role in the u.n peace keeping missions.

By the way, your comment is incredibly and blatantly racist. On a less democratic forum it would have been rejected.
That shows that these "bad" Russians are very tolerant people, after all.

If people tried to understand each other instead of hating and fighting, wouldn't that make the world a better place to live in? :-)

Pax vobiscum!

From the vitriol written by kristine, I can only assume that she hails from one of those pathetic so-called 'Baltic Republics' that openly and unashamedly practice discrimination against their Russian minorities. This is despite being members of the EU, which apparent prohibits such discrimination.
Perhaps kristine's sympathies lie with the ideologies of the former German National Socialist Party, ideologies that seem to continue to have a resonance with the populations of Baltic nations.

Kristine, your anti-Russian hysteria has been noted here on RT several times. Also notable is the lack of any substantive allegations against modern-day Russia that might at give your rabid prejudices some level of credibility. You just hate for the sake of hating, it seems.

quote Margo

@ Kristine

Perhaps if there weren't 27 million or so war dead who fought against the nazis (whom the Baltic regions admire so much) there might be more Russians around in the present day.

Today's Russia has taken in the best and the worst of the capitalism so what do you expect?

In Italy the population growth is zero. Is that because there were concentration camps there too??

@ Dino
There is no blind so blind as the one who doesn't want to see. Or so they say.
Judging by your previous comments, you have your mind set up a priori, so what's the use of debating with you? You have no doubts whatsoever, the Russians are evil, they always do something nasty, and so on and so on. You just keep repeating what the most trivial anti-Russian media say, nagging all around and about. That's really boring.
