Eunan O’Neill
Eunan O’Neill is a sports anchor for RT.
He has been with RT right from the station’s debut in December 2005.
“It was a very exciting time. People from all over the world getting to know each other and report news at the same time! The channel has grown so much since then. Its been fascinating being part of it.”
During his time as a sports anchor, Eunan has met and interviewed some of the world’s most recognisable faces including Guus Hiddink, Jose Mourinho, Evander Holyfield and the Klitschko brothers.
He’s been at the helm in Moscow for World Cup Finals and European Championships in Football, and both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.
Eunan is also kept busy covering stories from abroad. He says that finding yourself in Miami during a Russian winter isn’t the worst feeling in the world… and neither is racing on the Hockenheim Formula 1 track in Germany.
Outside of work, Eunan enjoys martial arts and was formerly a member of the Irish Kickboxing Squad for five years. Theatre is another of his passions. He was even offered the chance to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art before moving to Moscow.
Eunan’s educational background is in Broadcast Journalism, Business and Advertising. He has studied at the University of Sheffield, Wesley College in Delaware and the University of Ulster.
