Evgeny Sukhoi
Evgeny Sukhoi is a news presenter on Russia Today.
He joined RT on its launch in 2005 and first worked as a political correspondent and roving reporter.
In March 2006 in Belarus, he covered the presidential elections and the opposition riots in the centre of Minsk, providing up-to-the-minute updates on the situation.
While in North Ossetia he followed the trial of the only surviving Beslan school-siege terrorist, Nurpashi Kulaev.
Evgeny has also worked in Iran, covering the nuclear controversy and filing stories about the culture and traditions of the local people.
Evgeny has traveled off the beaten track, providing the channel’s viewers with an insight into the political processes and lives of ordinary people, be it in Iran, Kazakhstan or the Republic of South Ossetia.
Since January 2007 Evgeny Sukhoi has been working as a news presenter, covering stories including the death of Boris Yeltsin, the military conflict in South Ossetia and the recent war in Gaza.
Sukhoi graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO-University).
Evgeny speaks English, German and French.
His interests include cinema, theatre, literature and alpine sports.
