James Brown

James Brown is a documentary maker and news correspondent for RT.

One of the channel’s original employees, he has reported on stories throughout Russia, the CIS and Europe.

James covered Russia and Kyrgyzstan’s Presidential elections and reported live from the aftermath of anti-government riots in the capital Bishkek.

In Prague he followed demonstrations against the planned US anti-missile defence base, and covered the rescue operation and funerals following Ukraine’s worst mining disaster since its independence.

James has made documentaries across the length and breadth of Russia. His programs include travels to the country’s volcano capital Kamchatka, its Jewish Autonomous Region, and Europe’s only Buddhist republic Kalmykia.

He’s even spent two weeks living in the depths of Siberia’s Taiga forest. James is also a presenter on RT’s ‘Russia Close Up’ programme, which has taken him from the shores of Vladivostok to the peaks of the Karachay Cherkess Mountains.

James is a graduate of Bristol University and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the London College of Communication.
