Madina Kochenova

Madina joined the Business Today team in summer 2006 as a broadcast journalist, and a few months later she began working as a correspondent.

She has interviewed both Russian and international business representatives, including Russian Railways head Vladimir Yakunin, Gazprom deputy CEO Aleksandr Medvedev, former Transneft president and ex-head of OlympStroy, Semyon Vainstock, and chairman of ITERA, Russia's biggest private gas company, Igor Makarov.

Her business reports have provided in-depth analysis of complex economic issues such as ruble appreciation, the dramatic rate of inflation, record jump in oil prices, and she has produced feature reports on everything from smoking to sausages.

She has travelled with Russia's Prime Ministers Mikhail Fradkov and Viktor Zubkov on their trips to Finland, Holland and Hungary to improve business ties with those countries. Madina also travelled with Gazprom delegates to Armenia, where she was given access to the country's main gas storage facility.

She has degrees in International Management and English/French from Moscow State Linguistic University, and has also studied Spanish at the Cervantez Institute in Moscow.
