Natalia Khokhlova

Natalia is a correspondent for RT’s business team. Since 2008 she has been a member of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s pool of correspondents, traveling with him across Russia. She first joined RT as a broadcast journalist in 2005.

Natalia hails from the Moscow region in Russia and graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in journalism and foreign languages, specializing in linguistics. The topic of her thesis was “Linguistic characteristics of speeches and works by Lev Trotsky as an instrument to influence the mass conscience in the 1910-1920s.”

The work was deemed to be unique scientific research and immediately published by university’s publishing house.

In 2002 Natalia began her career in journalism at ORT, one of Russia’s top TV broadcasters, and Vesti Moscow, a news channel. By 2003 she was working as a news correspondent for the “Sport” channel at the All-Russia State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK)

She was also a features reporter for Al Gurnov’s weekly program “The Week of Sports.”

Natalia has interviewed a number of prominent sportsmen, including Olympic Champions Svetlana Khorkina, Alina Kabaeva and Alexey Nemov.

Her hobbies include cinema (New Wave, Soviet), literature, philosophy, photography, gardening, traveling, music (progressive metal, industrial, classical) and she sometimes relaxes by playing the piano.

Apart from her native Russian, she is fluent in English and Spanish.
