Natallia Shanetskaya

Natallia Shanetskaya is a news correspondent for RT.

Since joining RT a few years ago, Natallia has been responsible for a number of key reports and updates. It was Natallia who kept viewers up to date with bi-hourly live reports from the 2007 Economic Forum in St. Petersburg. Shanetskaya says she focused on keeping a close eye on what was said at the Forum and what it meant for the Russian economy.

It was also Natallia who was live at the scene at the 2008 Economic Forum in Davos, where she brought RT viewers exclusive interviews with the then-head of Russia’s power monopoly RAO UES Anatoly Chubais, VTB head Andrei Kostin and Vympelcom’s Aleksander Izosimov.

Natallia first tried her hand at reporting during the 1998 financial crisis in Russia when she was based at CNN’s Moscow bureau. She also covered the burst of the so-called “dot-com bubble” in 2000 while working for the San Francisco-based audiovisual network ON24, one of the pioneers of streaming online financial news.

Shanetskaya comes from a distinctly journalistic academic background, having earned a degree in Journalism from California State University in San Francisco.
