Neil Harvey

Along the way, he was awarded a scholarship with BBC News - which included a year of training with the BBC’s top presenters and reporters. He also was runner-up in the national competition - BBC Talent, and won a Royal Television Society award for best newcomer.

After earning a Postgraduate Degree in Broadcast Journalism, he went on to work for BBC News, Radio 1, 4, and 5, plus commercial radio and TV.

While with RT, Neil’s worked at the UEFA Cup final, Champions League final, Beijing Olympics and EURO 2008.

His favourite moment though came in Guatemala, when doing a live interview with IOC President Jacques Rogge - just after he’d awarded the Winter Olympics to Sochi.

Neil says only wild horses (or being fired) could drag him away from the bright lights of Moscow.

He also can’t understand why nobody else thinks the World Darts Championships are the greatest sports event on the planet - “Beer, screaming fans, and elite athletes - what more could you want?!”
