Oksana Boyko

Oksana Boyko is RT’s political correspondent.
She has been with the channel since its creation in 2005. Oksana is keen to point out that she celebrates her birthday on the same day RT went on air.
Most recently, she produced a series of in-depth reports from Chechnya, focusing on the personal toll of the decade-long conflict.
Although Oskana’s first story for RT had to do with the growing popularity of leech therapy in Russia, she proceeded to switch her attention to the country’s political and economic health instead.
She chronicled many of President Vladimir Putin’s foreign trips and covered numerous key international political gatherings, such as the recent G8 summits in St. Petersburg and Heiligendamm.
Oksana has interviewed such prominent political players as U.S. President George W. Bush, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
Despite her interest in high-flying world leaders, Oksana tries to cover her stories through the eyes of ordinary people, never missing a chance to talk to local shopkeepers, bakers, students or passers-by.
Oksana holds a Master's Degree in Mass Communications from Kansas State University.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking and studying Turkish.
