Sophie Shevardnadze

Sophie has been a news presenter at RT since the channel's launch in 2005.

She has also presented the programs “Culture Fair,” which looked at the cultural side of modern Russia and “Wanted,” a series of profiles of successful Russians.

Sophie currently presents her own interview program, “Interview with Sophie Shevardnadze.” She also writes for Russian magazines and hosts a radio talk-show.

Sophie began her career in television after graduating with a Masters in Journalism from NYU.

While in New York, she worked at ABC as an associate producer and was also a special features reporter for Georgian TV channel, Imedi.

Sophie holds a BA in film from Boston University and a diploma from the International Piano Conservatory of Paris.

She devotes most of her spare time to cinema, but is also interested in jazz and classical music, travelling and Georgian food.

Sophie is fluent in Georgian, Russian, English, French and Italian.
