Fans await return of hockey heroes

Moscow's Vnukovo airport is being flooded with Russian hockey fans. The national team, crowned World Champions in Canada, are set to return with the trophy they’ve been waiting 15 years for.

In a thrilling final, they defeated Canada 5-4 in overtime.

The victory was the first for Russia in 15 years. After Ilya Kovalchuk scored the golden goal in Quebek people across Russia took to the streets and held huge celebrations.

Now hundreds of people are expected to welcome the team as nothing less than heroes.
