Russian pop singer Dima Bilan has qualified for the Final of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place on Saturday, May 24.
In the semi-final in Serbia's capital, Belgrade, Bilan performed the composition 'Believe Me'.
He was assisted by the Hungarian violinist and composer Edvin Marton and Russian Olympic champion in figure skating Evgeny Plushchenko.
Twenty five singers will compete in the Final, in which Russia was drawn 24th. Bilan’s producer called the number ‘lucky’ as it corresponds to the date of the contest and to the singer’s birthday, which is on December 24.
