Daredevil mountain bikers on track in Moscow

Bike enthusiasts were out in force in Moscow on Sunday, taking to the same hills that are used for winter sports when there’s snow.

’Bike Attack’ saw some of the country’s top riders as well as a number of eager amateurs take to the Kant hills in southern Moscow.

First up was the downhill event, which involves riders competing for the fastest time over a course taking in fast straights, jumps and tight corners.

After a series of qualifying heats to separate the wheat from the chaff, the race was on in the elite competition.

A tightly fought battle saw the top riders crossing the line around the 35 second mark. As the competition wore on several threatened to break through that time. But the man to do just that was Anton Rumyantsev. He took first place with some furious adrenalin- fueled riding.

After that, the dirt jump freestylers were on centre stage with riders earning points for the height, difficulty level and landing of their jumps.
