Kiddies' favourite gets his own museum

Published 02 June, 2008, 22:09

A museum celebrating Cheburashka, a cartoon character much loved by Russian children, has opened in Moscow. This big-eared, furry creature has been winning the hearts of kids and adults for over 30 years.

The newly-opened Cheburashka museum features dolls, plasticine figures and lots of children's drawings of Cheburashka and his friends.

It's only natural that the opening ceremony looked more like a kindergarten holiday. The event also paid tribute to Cheburashka's creator, children's writer Eduard Uspensky.

“I planned to open this museum long ago. I am really glad that finally it has happened,” he said.
