You don't have to ask Russians twice who’s their favourite player in the national team, but his most devoted supporters are back home in St Petersburg.
“Our boy puts on his lucky T-shirt, we watch the match and hope daddy will get through to the very end,” says Yulia, Arshavin’s wife.

The Russian star seems to be at the peak of his game as last month he helped bring his home club – Zenit St Petersburg – the UEFA Cup, after which even President Medvedev was delighted to receive the player's lucky number 10 shirt.
Euro 2008 started late for Arshavin as he had to miss the first two matches due to suspension. But back on the pitch, Andrey's speed, creativity and energy propelled Russia into the semi-final, turning him into a hero.
Meanwhile, as the player's price rises, the world's top clubs are queuing up to sign him.
But Andrey is aiming to score not only in football. Earlier this year he came up with his own clothes collection.
“I admire Arshavin as a sportsman, and these dresses are so stylish. During his next game I’ll be cheering while wearing one of them,” says Olga, a customer.
