Punk’s not dead! Sex Pistols play first-ever Russian gig

One of the most outrageous and controversial rock bands of all times, the Sex Pistols, have played their first-ever gig in Russia. The group hit the road this year to mark the 30th anniversary of their landmark first album ‘Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols’, and on Wednesday evening played in Moscow.
The original line-up of the band were together for only two years but managed to become the be-all and end-all of the punk rock scene – something Russians have finally had the chance to experience 30 years on.
“It took us 30 years to get to Russia and I'm glad I’ve come. There really is an understanding of what I’m doing here, and I’m very enamoured and impressed by that,” said the band's frontman Johnny Rotten.
The Sex Pistols split in 1978 after their bassist Sid Vicious – not an original member – died of a drugs overdose.
The remaining members reunited in 1996 for the ‘Filthy Lucre Tour’, and then again in 2002 and 2003.
Now in his 50s, Johnny Rotten isn't planning to leave the stage.
“Retiring? No, I'm going to perform at my funeral,” Johnny Rotten says.
The band is going to play more concerts in Europe.
