Eclectic, cutting-edge and original. Ukranian designer Lilia Poustovit showed her latest collection at Russian Fashion Week.
Ukraine’s most sophisticated designer says a woman wearing her clothes can be recognized by her attitude and style and she is open-minded and easy-going, just like herself.
Lilia says her autumn-winter collection was inspired by the atmosphere of the 1960s as well as by The Paper Soldier – the award-winning drama about space from Russian director Alexey German Jr.
Poustovit describes the philosophy behind her brand as a fusion of “romantic conceptualism with ethnic identity”. Rich in colours, the collection features casual dresses in silk, jersey and wool as well as jazzy jackets.
The designer says, her clothes are for charismatic women who don’t look back at others and always have their own opinion. At least on fashion…
Her creations can be found in London, Tokyo and Paris. Poustovit says she’s a true cosmopolitan. “I like to travel, and I feel so cozy abroad! But I’m also a patriot of my country and always try to reflect my ethnic roots and national background in my collections. For instance, traditional Ukrainian costumes and folklore often become my main source of inspiration. “
