France’s Grande Dame goes up

The Eiffel Tower, the most visited landmark in the world that is open 365 days a year, has raised the cost of its entrance fee.
The newly introduced fee give elevator access straight to the second floor and costs €8 (almost $11). Entrance tickets to the first floor have been completely abolished.
However, according to the new fees, the Eiffel Tower still provides free admission to young children, which has been raised from three-year-olds to four.
According to SETE, the company that runs the symbolic tower, up to seven million people visit the legendary monument every year. On March 31, the tower designed by Gustave Eiffel, and completed in 1889, celebrated its 120th birthday. To maintain its image, every seven years the Eiffel Tower has to be repainted by hand.
