Barack the Barbarian hits the road for epic quest

The US president is to appear in feature comics again. This time, he’ll be the protagonist of a Conan the Barbarian-inspired adventure plunging into the depths of Washington politics.

In the story presented by Devil's Due Publishing, mighty axe-wielding warrior Barack the Barbarian learns he is ‘destined to save the great republic of America and dethrone the overpaid despots,'

The brave adventurer will meet characters with vaguely familiar names like sorceress Hilaria, her demi-god trickster husband Biil, Overlord Boosh and Chainknee of the Elephant Kingdom, the publisher promised.

Devil's Due founder and President Josh Blaylock, an Obama fan, says the series was inspired by a half-dozen other Obama comics, including the president's appearance earlier this year with Spider-Man. Barack Omaba’s own fondness for collecting "Conan the Barbarian" comics contributed as well.

"Everyone's doing just these little cameos and stuff," cites Blaylock in the Chicago Tribune. "I said, let's just go do something nuts. I want people to look at this and say 'What the hell is this?' "

In another comic book announced by the publisher, an Obama-inspired mute character will wage war, into which an alien civilization drew humanity.
