That's the test for the most expensive movie ever made in Russia – the $36.5 million sci-fi drama 'The Inhabited Island.'
The largest entertainment agency in the world will globally promote the film, starring student actor Vasily Stepanov.
“It’s a big movie with a simple universal story which has all possibilities of targeting western audiences,” says the film’s producer Aleksander Rodnyansky. A special version of Fyodor Bondarchuk's two-part action adventure has been made to appeal directly to film lovers in the West.
The Inhabited Island is set in 2157, and based on the famous futuristic novel written by the Strugatsky brothers in 1968.
According to Rodnyansky, the movie is “done on a pretty attractive professional level. Not only a huge amount of money was invested in it, but also a great deal of energy and creative talent”
Throughout its 101-year history, the William Morris Agency has represented many of the world’s top filmmakers, actors, writers, sportsmen, politicians, and musicians.
