The stage prepared for a concert of hard rockers, touring Russian major cities, has collapsed a few hours before the concert in Novosibirsk. The concert was called off and people are waiting to have their money back.
The stage allegedly collapsed last night under the weight of heavy equipment. It was found broken by the workers on Saturday morning.
There were no victims in the incident; however some of the equipment brought by the musicians was badly damaged, and thousands of people are waiting to get back the money they paid for the tickets. The ticket prices varied from US$30 US up to $260.
As a result of the incident, the concert of The Scorpions, Kingdom Come, The Rasmus and Alice Cooper did not go ahead in Novosibirsk. The cost of this unfortunate event is preliminarily estimated by the organizers at a cost of almost US$650,000.
This sum includes the cost of flights and accommodation for the musicians, and also the penalty for the called off concert. The cost of the broken musical and light equipment will be calculated separately.
Now the promoter’s are refunding ticket costs to the people who bought them. According to the organizers, about 20,000 spectators were expected at the might-have-been show. Some of them have already got their money back.
Now the four bands are heading to Krasnoyarsk to give their concert on June 22. Then they’ll appear in Murmansk (June 24), Volgograd (June 26) and on June 28 they’ll close the tour in Moscow.
