Farm cheese rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 lb farm cheese or quark
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoonful of vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoonful baking powder
  • 2.5 cups flour

Cooking

Make a smooth, elastic dough of all the ingredients. You should find it sticks to your fingers a little. Separate into 4 pieces. Roll each piece into a circle, half-an-inch thick, on a board covered with flour. Cut the circle into eight slices, like a pizza, and roll them from the long side in. Bake for 20 minutes at 350F. Make sure the rolls have enough space between them on a baking tray as the dough rises by almost double.

You can fill the rolls with anything you like – marmalade, apples, raisins, dried fruit or a mixture of them all.
