Metallurg stumped at the finish line

ZSC Lions Zurich won the inaugural Champions Hockey League (CHL) on Wednesday, following a 5-0 thrashing of past European champion Metallurg Magnitogorsk for a 7-2 aggregate victory.
The two teams met in Russia a week ago only to draw 2-2, with Metallurg climbing back from a 2-0 deficit.
However, the final today would not see any last minute heroics as the team from Zurich made sure the Russians had no chance to come back.
The Swiss Champions have won the biggest title in their history while at the same time dethroning Magnitogorsk. With this victory, the Lions have earned the right to face the winners of the 2009 Stanley Cup in the Victoria Cup, a million-dollar challenge match in October.
