Haye beats up rubber goblin ahead of Valuev bout

British boxer David Haye has came up with more insults for WBA heavyweight champ Nikolay Valuev at an open workout session ahead of their November 7 bout.

The boxers trained in front of the crowd at a shopping precinct in the German city of Nuremberg, with the fight to take place in Bern, Switzerland.

Haye once again showed disrespect for his opponent. He was late for the session, making Valuev enter the ring first, which Valuev contravened according to the official schedule.

The 2.13-meter-tall Russian Giant did some light stretching and shadow boxing, leaving the stage for Haye.

And the title contender, who was wearing a t-shirt saying “David vs. Goliath”, vividly explained how he prepared to tackle the Beast from the East.

His coach Adam Booth put a rubber goblin mask on one of his pads and Haye punched it hard.

“That is Valuev. This is how we have prepared for him,” David Haye told Sky Sports news.

Haye doesn’t appear to be enjoying his stay in Germany at all.

“When I reached German soil I was guided towards a disgusting hotel, with a dingy room. After a quick call or two, we managed to depart the rancid lair with our legs and arms still intact. We actually ended up at a lovely five-star hotel, though we had to pay for the five-star privilege. Still, if it saves us from the guaranteed Black Death of the first place, it will be well worth the price,” he wrote in his online diary at www.thesun.co.uk.

But Valuev said he’s not bothered by his rivals’ problems and just can’t wait to get in the ring with him.

“I don’t care whether he can sleep or not. And I don’t really care about what hotel he stays in. I am really looking forward to Saturday night when I will meet him in the ring and defend my title. I cannot wait to land a few heavy blows on him,” Nikolay Valuev said.
