God’s sign for Georgian peace?
RT's bureau in Georgia has acquired this mobile phone footage. The strange crucifix-shaped image was caught on the camera in the town of Mtskheta – one of the oldest cities in the country and the place where Georgia accepted Christianity.
Some locals believe it was a sign from God, conveying the message of peace and conciliation after the riots in Tbilisi.
In early November 2007 tens of thousands of protestors took to the streets to call for the President’s resignation and were brutally dispersed by riot police. Part of the dispersed crowd sought sanctuary in Tbilisi’s main cathedral.
The country’s top clergymen, including the head of the Georgian Orthodox and Apostolic Church Patriarch Ilia II, condemned the violence.
The footage was filmed the same month. So far we failed to find any scientific explanation of the phenomenon.
